8 April 2011
Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been seized by Department of Health officials throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.
A male was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medications through the web.
The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offences.
He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.
Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be unsafe.
"These kinds of products being offered, generally online, have actually undergone no and there can be no warranty about their safety.
"You merely do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not know the result drugs like this may have on your health."
